It wasn’t all that long ago that for most people, a full-time job in cannabis was far from a safe career path. But as legalization has spread to states across the country, a career in legal cannabis has become a reality for people across the country.

New call-to-action

To get a glimpse of this brave new world of legal marijuana look no further than the 2022 Leafly jobs report, which found that there are now more legal cannabis professionals than hairstylists, barbers, and cosmetologists combined. These jobs cover a wide range of fields ranging from cultivation to marketing to legal affairs, human resources, and compliance, to name just a few.

In the years to come, Leafly's research suggests that well over 1.5 million people in the United States alone could have full-time cannabis jobs. For many (if not most) of these jobs, prior experience with cannabis may not be required, and applicants may find that they don’t even need to live in a state that has legalized cannabis.

On June 29th at 12 pm we’ll take an in-depth look at the world of cannabis careers in the Rootwurks webinar “The Cannabis Job Market - Where are We Going, and How Can You Get In the Mix?”

Our expert panelists - including Kelsea Appelbaum, the Vice President of Partnerships at the cannabis staffing firm Vangst and TaJanna Mallory, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CannAssistants will discuss the biggest trends in the cannabis job market today, the most-common job openings, the states with the greatest job growth, and what would-be industry professionals should know when they’re ready to join the industry.

The panelists will discuss what type of job experience is relevant to the cannabis industry, and why would-be industry professionals don’t need to worry too much if they don't have any experience in cannabis. They will also take a close look at how even if there is still some stigma around cannabis, the industry really isn’t all that different from other labor markets.

In addition, they’ll discuss how the era of remote work and “the Great Resignation” have affected the industry, and why a job in cannabis can be in your future even if you live in a state that hasn't been legalized.

Who can benefit from the webinar?

The webinar is tailor-made for people who are interested in pursuing a career in cannabis and aren’t sure where or how to start, as well as people who are already in the industry and may be looking for a way to climb the ladder in cannabis.

So if you find the world of legal cannabis fascinating and you’re wondering what it may hold for your future, join us on June 29th, we’ll save you a seat:
