Launch and Learn QR Code...

In response to requests from Rootwurks users, we’ve launched several updates to our “Launch and Learn” QR codes that help enhance recording and make it easier to build flexible, efficient, and impactful training.

To read more about how our Launch and Learn QR codes help our clients create seamless anywhere, anytime learning, read our previous blog post.

Key Configuration Improvements:

    • Advanced Assignment Settings: Assign if Needed, Assign Once Ever, and recurring assignment settings help admins create targeted, streamlined learning paths.
    • Enhanced Scope Settings: Organize and assign training tailored to specific regions or facilities.
  • Expiration Settings: Keep training from going stale by setting an expiration date for content access, and instantly disable or enable assignments as needed.
  • Fine-Tuned Access: Select precisely which team members can launch specific content
  • URLs and Printable PDFs: Learners can access content directly using a URL without scanning a QR code. You can also create a printable PDF for QR codes to post around the workplace for easy, on-the-job access.

Launch and Learn QR Code Enhancements:

1. More Flexible Assignment Configuration Options

  • Existing Only: This means the code will launch an assignment that has already been created for the learner, but it will not create a new one.
  • Assign if Needed: When a learner scans the QR code, Rootwurks first looks for an existing assignment. If one already exists, the learner is launched directly into that assignment. If no assignment exists, Rootwurks automatically creates one and launches it.
  • Assign Once Ever: This option assigns the content to each learner only one time. If the learner scans the QR code again after completing the assignment, Rootwurks will not create a duplicate assignment, but will open the course in review mode.
  • After X Days Completed: Allows the content to be reassigned after a set amount of time has passed since the learner’s last completion. The default is 90 days, but you can change this to any number of days that fits your training schedule. Before that time has passed, scanning the QR code only opens the existing assignment instead of creating a new one. If the learner scans the QR code again, the course opens in review mode.

2. Organization, Region, and Facility Scoping

  • Configure who can access a QR code based on organizational structure.
    • Restrict access to a specific region.
    • Restrict access to a specific facility.

3. QR Code Expiration

  • Optional expiration dates for QR codes.
    • Automatically disable codes after a specified date.

4. Administrator Access

  • Administrators can now launch training using QR codes.
    • Optional setting to include or exclude administrators from the user selection list.
    • Password verification required before administrators launch content.

5. Customizing QR Code Information

  • Configure the launch code name.
    • Add an optional description to provide additional context for learners.
    • Improve identification when managing multiple QR codes.
